TROUBLESHOOTING
Faults
Engine has too little power.
Engine overheats.
FI warning lamp (MIL) lights/flashes
Engine dies during the journey
High oil consumption
Possible cause
Air filter very dirty
Fuel filter very dirty
Defect in fuel injection system
Too little coolant in cooling system
Radiator fins very dirty
Foam formation in cooling system
Buckled or damaged radiator hose
Thermostat defective
Fuse 5 blown
Defect in radiator fan system
Air in cooling system
Defect in fuel injection system
Lack of fuel
Fuse 1, 2 or 4 blown
Engine vent hose bent
Engine oil level too high
Engine oil too thin (low viscosity)
Action
Have the air filter changed.
Have the fuel filter changed.
Read the error memory with the KTM diagnostics
tool and correct the fault.
Check the cooling system for leakage.
Check the coolant level. (
Clean radiator fins.
Drain the coolant.
