1. Use genuine HONDA or HONDA·recommended parts and lubricants or their equillalent. Parts that do not meet HONDA's
design speCIfications may damage Ihe motorcycle.
2. Usc lht' special tools designed for this product.
3. Use only metric 100ls when serllicing this motorcycle. Metric boilS, nuls, and screws are
not
intt'rchangeable with English
taslllnCfs.
The usc at
incorrect tools ;:Ind fasteners may damage the motorcycle.
4. Install new gaskets, O.rinO'S, cotler pins, lock plates, etc. when reassembling.
5. When tighlening bolt> or nutS, begin with larger-diameter or inner bolts firSI, and lighten
to
the specified IOrque in

crisscross
p,mem. unless a particular sequence is specified.
6. Clean parts in cleaning solvent upon disassembly. lubricate any sliding surfaces before reassembly.
7.
After reilssernblv. check
all
parts

proper installation and operation.
