MAINTENANCE
BATTERY
Remove lh!! bantry case cover.
Inspect the battery fluid level. '.''IIhen the fluid level
nears the lower level mas-k, refill with distilled water
to the upper level.
Check the specific; gravity of the battery electro-
lyte in each cell (Page 13-31.
Recharge the battery if necessary (Page 13-41.
NOTE
IAdd only distilled water. Tap water will shorten
I

BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
Measure the fronl and rear brake lever free plays at
the end of the levers.
FREE PLAY:
FRONT and.REAR: 10-15 mm (3/8-5/8 in)
If
adjustment is necessary, turn the urake adjustm9
nut.

the blake arm on the brake camshaft as follows:
