Optional Procedure

If after Step 1 the F3 COMPACT is not quiet and steady, conduct

one or both of the following procedures:

Noise Cancel (see 4.3.1)

Audio Reset (see 4.3.2)

4.3.1

If the F3 COMPACT is noisy or uneven when the coil is

stationary, conduct Noise Cancel as follows:

a. Holding the coil stationary and at least 600 mm (24 ins)

above the ground press and hold the Noise Cancel button

for two seconds. (see Figure 17)

b. Noise Cancel will commence with two single beeps followed

by 45 seconds of sharp triple beeps, finishing with four single

beeps.

During the 45 seconds, the detector scans the environment

searching for any electrical interference. Once detected, the F3

COMPACT will automatically select a different operating

frequency to eliminate or reduce the interference.
