Section 3 - Configuration
The DNS-323 supports four different disk configuration types: Standard, where each drive is a unique volume, JBOD,
which combines both drives in a linear fashion to create one volume, as well as RAID 0 and RAID 1.
When RAID 1 is used, the DNS-323 supports both Auto Rebuild and Manual Rebuild. Auto Rebuild allows a degraded
RAID 1 array to be automatically rebuilt when a failed hard drive is replaced by restoring data from the existing hard
drive to the newly inserted hard drive. Manual Rebuild requires the user to login to the Web UI of the DNS-323 and
initiate the Raid 1 Rebuild by clicking the Manual Rebuild Now button.
Click Set RAID Type and Re-Format to change the
current drive configuration.
The DNS-323 allows you to change the drive configuration
from Standard to RAID 1, without losing any data
Please Note:
Rebuilding will erase all data on the newly inserted drive.
