iCA2 Analog I/O Mixer: The internal mixer section in the iConnectAUDIO2+. Eight
mixer inputs are available on the "Destinations" axis, and three pairs of independent
submixes are available on the "Sources" axis. These three pairs of submixes appear as
three separate mixer tabs on the Audio Mixer control panel, explained later.
Input routings:
Referring to the view of the Audio Patchbay above, here is an explanation of how the
iConnectAUDIO2+ inputs have been routed in the default configuration:
- The front panel Combo inputs are routed to ports 1&2 of both computers. That's so
they're available in your music software for recording (or processing, or just monitoring).
- Ports 1 through 4 from Computer #1 are routed to two destinations: to Computer/iPad
#2 ports 3,4,5,&6; and to inputs 1&2 and 5&6 of the iConnectAUDIO2+ internal Audio
Mixer.
- Ports 1 through 4 from Computer #2 are also routed to two destinations: Computer #2
ports 3,4,5,&6; and to inputs 3&4 and 7&8 of the Audio Mixer.
Audio Mixers:
The internal mixers allow signals to be combined within the interface for uses such as
low-latency monitoring. The analog mixer inputs can be mixed independently on three
separate stereo mix buses. The diagram below illustrates how the internal mixers are
used.
