Connecting the Air Supply to the Pneumatic Tool
– Screw hose fitting 1 into the connection socket at air inlet
18.
To avoid damage to interior valve components of the pneu-
matic tool when screwing hose fitting 1 in or out, it is rec-
ommended to counter-hold the projecting connection
socket of air intake 18 with an open-end wrench (size
22 mm).
– Loosen hose clamp 20 of supply-air hose 22, mount the
supply-air hose to hose fitting 1 and retighten the hose
clamp.
Note: Always mount the supply-air hose to the pneumatic tool
first, then to the maintenance unit.
Mounting Grinding or Cutting Discs
– Clean the grinder spindle 14 and all parts to be mounted.
Installation (see figures E1 – E2)
– Make sure that the fitting protection guard is mounted (see
"Mounting the Protective Devices", page 19).
– Place the clamping flange 10 on the grinder spindle 14.
A plastic part (O-ring) is fitted around the centring collar of
mounting flange 10. If the O-ring is missing or damaged, it
must immediately be replaced before mounting flange 10 is
mounted.
– Mount the desired grinding/cutting disc 10 in the correct
rotation direction onto the grinder spindle 14.
– Place the clamping nut 9 onto the spindle thread so that
the central recess of the clamping nut faces upward.
– Tighten the clamping nut with two-pin spanner 8, while
counter-holding the spanner surfaces of the grinder spin-
dle 14 with open-end spanner 16.
 After mounting the grinding tool and before switching
on, check that the grinding tool is correctly mounted
and that it can turn freely. Make sure that the grinding
tool does not graze against the protection guard or oth-
er parts.
Removal (see figures F1 – F2)
– Hold the grinder spindle 14 on the spanner surfaces with
open-end spanner 16.
– Unscrew the clamping nut 9 from the grinder spindle with
two-pin spanner 8, while counter-holding the spanner sur-
faces with open-end spanner 16.
– Afterwards, pull the grinding tool and the mounting flange
from the grinder spindle.
Mounting the Rubber Sanding Plate
(see figure G)
Installation
– Make sure that the hand guard and the auxiliary handle are
mounted (see "Mounting the Protective Devices",
page 19).
– Place the rubber sanding plate 5 onto the grinder spindle
14.
– Lay the sanding disc 6 on the rubber sanding plate.
– Place the round nut 7 on the spindle collar.

– Tighten the round nut with two-pin spanner 8, while coun-
ter-holding the spanner surfaces of the grinder spindle 14
with open-end spanner 16.
Take care that the round nut 7 is screwed completely into the
bulge of the rubber sanding plate so that it does not interfere
while sanding and the sanding disc is firmly seated.
Removal
– Hold the grinder spindle 14 on the spanner surfaces with
open-end spanner 16.
– Unscrew the round nut 7 from the grinder spindle with
two-pin spanner 8, while counter-holding the spanner sur-
faces with open-end spanner 16.
– Pull the sanding disc and the rubber sanding plate from the
grinder spindle.
Operation
Starting Operation
The pneumatic tool works optimally at a working pressure of
6.3 bar (91 psi), measured at the air inlet when the pneumat-
ic tool is switched on.
 Remove application tools before you start operating
the pneumatic tool. An application tool which is left at-
tached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in in-
jury.
Note: When the pneumatic tool does not start, for example af-
ter a longer rest period, disconnect the air supply, and turn
the motor by the tool holder 2 several times through. This re-
moves the adhesive forces.
To save energy, only switch the pneumatic tool on when you
are using it.
Switching On and Off
– To switch on the pneumatic tool, press the On/Off switch
17 and keep it pressed during the working procedure.
– To switch off the pneumatic tool, release the On/Off
switch 17.
Working Advice
 Exercise caution when cutting slots in structural walls;
see Section "Information on Structures".
 Clamp the workpiece if it does not remain stationary
due to its own weight.
 Do not strain the pneumatic tool so heavily that it
comes to a standstill.
 After heavily straining the pneumatic tool, continue to
run it at no-load for several minutes to cool down the
accessory.
 Do not use the pneumatic tool with a cut-off stand.
When the air supply is interrupted or the operating pressure is
reduced, switch the pneumatic tool off and check the operat-
ing pressure. Switch the tool on again when the operating
pressure is optimal.
Sudden loads cause a sharp drop in speed or a complete stop,
yet do not cause damage to the motor.
