TROUBLESHOOTING
Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with this component, check the
points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. Investigate the other components and electrical appliances being used.
If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks listed below, ask your nearest PIONEER authorized service center or your dealer
to carry out repair work.

Magazine is nat expelled when the EJECT
button is pressed.
.Power plug is disconnected from out/et
.Connect plug to amplifier or wall outlet
.Disc is loaded upside down.
.Smudges, etc., on the disc.
.Load the disc correctly with the label side
DOWN.
.Clean the smudges from the disc and then
play it again.
When playback is started, it stops
immediately,
Pauses or stops during playback.
No sound
I. Connect properly.
I. Check the settings of amplifier switches
and sound volume controls.
.Clean away dirt.
.Press the ~/II (.. or Il) button.
Sound is distorted. noise is output.
.Incorrect connections

.Connect ta amplifier's AUX ar CD terminais.
Da nat connect ta PHONO terminais.
.Clean away dirt.
.Switch OFF TV set, ar move player away
from TV set.
The picture of the TV screen is fluctuating
or FM broadcast has noise interference. I
.Interference is being picked up from the CD
player.
.Unplug the AC power cord. or move the
player away from TV or tuner .
Remote control will not function.
(PD-M426 only)
.Dead batteries.
.Too far fro~ player or wrong angle
.Replace batteries-
.The distance between remote control unit
and player should be no more than about 7
meters (23 feet).
The operational angle against the front
panel is within 30" from right or left end of
player.
.Relocate remote control unit or remove
obstruction.
.Obstruction between player and remote control
unit.
Ab normal functioning of this unit may be caused by static electricity, or other external interference. Ta restare normal operation,
unplug the AC pawer cord and then plug it in again.
