Normal mode
• Push to set the transmit output power level to "HIGH (5W)" or "LOW
(1W)."
• Hold down for 2 seconds to electronically lock [ROTARY SELECTOR]
and all keys except [PTT], [Side 1], [TOP],

Function mode
• Push to select the Duplex (repeater access) and Simplex (no

[Side 2]
• Push to enter or exit the squelch setting mode.
While in the squelch setting mode, rotate [ROTARY SELECTOR] to
adjust the squelch level.
• Hold down for 2 seconds to turn the ATS (Automatic Transponder
System) function ON or OFF.
[PTT]
• Hold down to transmit. Release to receive. (p. 5)
• A PTT Hold function can also be used.
(Push to start transmitting, push again to stop transmitting)

STATUS INDICATOR
• Lights red while transmitting.
• Lights green while receiving a signal, or when the squelch is open.
• Lights or blinks orange when a matched Selcall is received.
• Blinks green slowly when you should charge the battery.
• Blinks green quickly when you must charge the battery.
About the external speaker-microphone jack:
• Connect an optional external device.
• Make sure the power is OFF before connecting.
