AUTION: ITEMS OF INTEREST TO
CHILDREN SHOULD NOT BE STORED IN
CABINETS ABOVE A RANGE OR ON THE
BACKSPLASH OF A RANGE-CHILDREN
CLIMBING ON THE RANGE TO REACH
ITEMS COULD BE SERIOUSLY INJURED.
Use only dry pot holders—moist or
damp pot holders on hot surfacesmay
result in burns from steam. Do not Iet
pot holders touch hot surface units or heating
elements.Do not use a towel or other bulky cloth.
Such cloths can catch fire on a hot sufiace unit or
heatingelement.
Always keep dish towels,dish cloths, pot holders
and other linens a safe distance from your range.
A1wayskeep wooden and plastic utensils and
canned food a safe distance from your range.
Alwayskeep combustiblewall coverings,curtains
or drapes a safe distance from your range.
Never wear loose-fitting or hanging garments
while using the appliance. Be careful when
reachingfor items stored in cabinetsover the
Inge. Flammablematerialcould be ignited if
~roughtin contactwith hot surface units or
heating elementsand may cause severeburns.
DO NOT STORE OR USE COMBUSTIBLE
MATERIALS, GASOLINE OR OTHER
FLAMMABLE VAPORSAND LIQUIDS IN
THE VICINITY OF THIS OR ANY OTHER
APPLIANCE.
Keep the hood and grease filters clean to
maintain good venting and to avoid grease fires.
Do not let cooking grease or other flammable
materials accumulate in or near the rar~ge.

Do not use water on grease fires.

Never pick up a flaming pan. Turn
the controlsoff. Smothera flamingpan
on a sutf~ceunit by coveringthe pan completely
with a well-fittinglid. cookie sheet or flat tray.
Use a multi-purposedry chemicalor foam-type
fire extinguisher.
Flaminggrease outsidea pan can be put out by
coveringit with baking soda or, if available,by
using a multi-purposedry chemicalor foam-type
fire extinguisher.
~lamein the oven can be smotheredcompletely
by closing the oven door and turning the oven off
or by using a multi-purposedry chemicalor foam-
type fire extinguisher.
Teach children not to play with the controls or
any other part of the range.
Do not touch the surface units, heating
elements or the interior surfaces of the oven. ~
These surfaces may be hot enough to burn even
thoughthey are dark in color.During and after
use, do not touch, or let clothingor other
flammablematerialscontactthe surface units, the
areas nearby the surface units or any interior area
of the oven; allow sufficienttime for coolingfirst.
Potentiallyhot surfacesincludethe cooktop,areas
Pacingthe cooktop,oven vent opening,surfaces
near the opening,crevices aroundthe oven door
and metal trim parts above the door.
Remember: The inside surface of the oven may
be hot when the door is opened.
When
cooking pork, follow the directions
exactly and always cook the meat to an internal
temperatureof at least 77"C.(170°F.).This
assuresthat, in the remote possibilitythat trichina
may be present in the meat, it will be killed and
the meat will be safe to eat.
Oven
Stand away from the range when opening the
oven door. Hot air or steam which escapes can
cause burns to hands,face and/oreyes.
Do not heat unopened food containers.
Pressure could build up and the containercould
burst, causing an injury.
Keep the oven vent duct unobstructed.
*Keep-the oven free from grease buildup.
c Place the oven shelf in the desired position
while the oven is cool. If the shelvesmust be
handledwhen hot, do not let a pot holder contact
the heatingelements.
*Pulling out the shelf to the shelf stop is a
convenience in lifting heavy foods.
It
is also
a precautionagainstburns from touchinghot
surfacesof the door or oven walls.
When using cooking or roasting bags in the
oven, follow the manufacturer'sdirections.
Do not use your oven to dry newspapers.
If overheated,they can catch on fire.
