POSSIBLE CAUSE
This is normal in a new oven and will disappear in time. To s~~eed the
process, set a self-clean cycle for a minimum of 3 hours. See the Operating
the Self-Cleaning Oven section.
The oven thermostat needs adjustment. See the Adjust the Oven Thermosta-

: The oven controls are not set properly.
Heavily soiled ovens require 3'/~ to 4-hour clean time.
Heavy spillovers should be cleaned up before starting the clean cycle.
An odor from the insulation around the inside of the oven is normal for the
first few times the oven is used. This is temporary.
Check to be certain step by step directions were followed correctly. Sce
the Automatic Timers and Clock section.
Check for blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
