The [Bold] numbers in the descriptions below correspond to item numbers in the parts list for the UR
18DSL. The rechargeable battery must be removed from the UR 18DSL before disassembling or repairing
the UR 18DSL.
1. Disassembling and reassembling the front and back housings
<<Disassembly>>
(1) Remove four Machine Screws (M4 x 15) (Black) [3] from the front of the product.
(2) Open the Back Door [49] and remove two Machine Screws (M4 x 15) (Black) [3] from the back of the
Back Housing [63].
NOTE: Perform this operation carefully because multiple lead wires are connected between the
front and back housings.
(3) Remove the four lead wire connectors (Fig. 1) from Function PCBA [21] in the front housing. Then you
can fully separate the front housing from the back housing.
Inside the front housing
<<Reassembly>>
For reassembly, reverse the disassembling procedure while paying attention to the following:
(1) The two 3-pin connectors have similar shapes. Be careful to mount both at the correct positions.
(On products with serial numbers N39 to N49) (The upper 3-pin connector has read, black, and white
lead wires. The lower 3-pin connector has blue, red, and yellow lead wires.)
* To prevent inverted mounting, the shape of the upper 3-pin connector for products with serial
number N59 and later has been changed. On products with serial number N39 or N49, Jack [68]
must also be replaced when replacing Function PCBA [21]. These parts are treated as a set.
Similarly, when Jack [68] is replaced, Function PCBA [21] must also be replaced.
(2) When connecting each connector, be sure to fit it fully into the receptacle.
(3) The Front O-Ring [61] is set between the mating surfaces of the front and back housings. Be careful to
prevent any part of the O-ring from protruding.
(4) Be careful to prevent lead wires from being caught between other parts.
