Air Cleaner
8. Inspect for tears or cracks in the foam or seams of the air cleaner
and/or sub air cleaner. Replace the air cleaner and/or sub air
cleaner if it is damaged.
9. Allow the sub air cleaner to dry thoroughly before installing.
10. Install the sub air cleaner.
11. Allow the air cleaner to dry thoroughly before applying oil. A wet
air cleaner will not fully absorb the oil.
12. Pour clean air filter oil over the entire surface of the air cleaner.
Use both hands to evenly spread the oil into the air cleaner.
Gently squeeze out any excess oil. (To keep your hands dry, place
the air cleaner in a clean plastic bag before spreading the oil into
the air cleaner.)
13. Install the air cleaner on the air cleaner body.
14. Apply a thin coat of grease to the sealing surface of the air
cleaner assembly.
15. Insert the air cleaner assembly into the air cleaner housing.
16. Install the set plate.
17. Install the air cleaner housing cover.
18. Latch the four retainer clips.
