UNDERSTANDING THE CP
8
TURBO
Before you use the CP8
Turbo,
it will help to understand a
little about how it
works.
USING SOME KEYS SEVERAL TIMES
The CPS Turbo has 35 programmable
keys.
You can
teach each command key up to eight different remote
control commands-one command for each of the eight
device indicators
(TV,
VCR1
,
VCR2,
CABLE, RCVR,
CD,
TAPE,
and AUX) up to the available memory
space.
Be-
fore you teach or use a command
,
press the SELECT [<Ill]
or [ .,..] to select the desired
device.
Each time you press a SELECT key
,
the next device
indicator appears on the
display.
After you reach the last
device indicator at the end of the
display,
the display wraps
to the indicator at the opposite end of the
display.
Although some device indicators have specific names
(TV,
VCR, TAPE,
CABLE
,
and so on)
,
you can teach re
-
mote control commands for any remote control compo-
nent using any device indicator setting
.
The display
names are only for reference.
The names on the command keys are also only for refer-
ence. Although it is best to use a CP8 Turbo key that has
the same name (or a similar name) as the remote control
key whose command it is being
taught,
you can teach any
remote control command to any CPS Turbo key.
For
example,
you can teach the fast-forward command for
your VCR to FF [ ........
]
on the CP8
Turbo.
Note:
The CPS Turbo can only learn infrared com-
mands. Old -fashioned
,
ultrasonic controls are
not compatible with the CP8
Turbo.
SETTING THE TIME
After you have installed your
batteries,
the CP8 Turbo will
automatically enter the run
mode.
A time will appear in the
display (12 :00 AM) and the day will show as MON
.
TV will
also appear in the upper left hand portion of the
display.
The LEARN key and other special function editing keys
are located underneath a sliding door at the base of your
Turbo.
