PROBLEM SOLVING
We do not expect you to have any problems with your
CPS
Turbo,
but if you
do,
the following suggestions might
help.
If you still need assistance, contact your Memorex
Service
Center.
Error appears on the display during teaching:
Check the Turbo's
batteries.
Commands cannot be
stored
if the batteries are weak. Also check the remote
control's
batteries.
Weak batteries can cause erratic
output of the IR commands.
Check the Turbo-to-remote control alignment and
spacing. The Turbo's IR indicator should flash when
you press a remote control
key.
Try moving the remote
control closer or farther away and teaching the key
again.
Note: The SEND/RECEIVE indicator may seem to be
on steadily if it is flashing at a fast rate.
The remote control might use control signals that the
Turbo cannot learn
.
The Turbo does not function when you press a key:
• Be sure you have taught the Turbo the desired com-
mands.
Be sure you have selected the correct device
indicator.
If one particular key is a problem
,
repeat
the teaching
process, following the procedure on Page
9.
Try
Steps A and B in combination with Step
C.
The BATTERY LOW symbol appears on the display
when you press a key or displays continuously and
the Turbo does not respond to any commands:
Immediately replace the Turbo's batteries.
ERROR appears in the run mode:
• You have not taught a command to the key you
pressed for the device selected.
FULL appears when teaching a command or pro-
gramming a command sequence:
• The Turbo's memory is full. Delete some commands or
sequences.
The Turbo locks up (does not respond to any key):
Check the
batteries.
If you continue to use the Turbo
after the BATTERY LOW symbol appears on the dis-
play,
the Turbo soon stops working
.
The Turbo should
operate normally when you install fresh batteries.
Press
and hold [CANCEL]. Then use a pen or pencil to
press the [RESET] button
(located
in the battery com-
partment).
Caution: Pressing [CANCEL) and [RESET] clears all
Turbo
memory.
You will have to teach all the remote
codes and commands to the Turbo again
.
