    Basic Control Panel Operations Press START to power up treadmill. All displays will light and the treadbelt will begin moving at 0.5 mph (0.8 km/hr in metric mode).     Getting Started Make sure you have read and understand this owner’s manual. Now you are ready to begin. Start by straddling the treadbelt with one foot on each traction strip. Press the START button. The power-up screen will appear and the treadmill belt will start moving at 0.5 mph (0.8 kph in metric).

    Built-in Programs You can choose from 5 Built-in programs, which differ in speed and incline. Each program has the user select a maximum speed, incline and time from 5 to 99 minutes. (Intervals Program requires a minimum speed and incline). Once set, the treadmill will not go above the maximum number unless manually overriden.

    Using the Built-In Programs The Pro Trainer Treadmill has 5 Built-in programs. The profiles of the Built-in programs are viewable on the left side of the control panel. The green blocks represent elevation changes. During the Built-In program setup you will input your desired workout max time, speed and incline.

    User Program Edit Mode The Pro Trainer Treadmill can store up to 2 individual User-Defined Programs. These programs will be retained even if the unit is unplugged. User-Defined Programs look and run exactly like Built-In Programs. The primary difference between Built-In and User-Defined Programs is customization.

    Heart Rate Monitoring The residential Pro Trainer Treadmill offers an optional Wireless Chest Strap heart rate transmitter which will give you feedback on how your body is affected by your workout. We will take a look at a few basic concepts of heart rate monitoring so you can better understand how it all works and how to maximize its use to allow you to reach the fitness level you desire.

    Heart Rate Transmitters The Pro Trainer Treadmill offers two separate heart rate monitoring systems that are optional: The Wireless Heart Rate chest strap transmitter and the Contact Heart Rate Monitoring System. Heart Rate Transmitters KEEPS YOU SAFE Exercising too hard can put you at risk for injury. A heart rate transmitter reminds you of the safe and effective heart rate intensity at which you should exercise and warns you when your workouts are too strenuous.

    Getting the Most out of Your Workouts Should you walk or run? This depends on several things such as body weight, fitness goals, and what you like to do. Walking is the safest, most compatible form of exercise for most people. If you’re just starting out, are new to exercise or participate in aerobic activities less than three times per week, we recommend that you walk.

    It is recommended that you vacuum around and underneath the treadmill on a monthly basis. Your treadmill will last longer and look better if you wipe the sweat off the unit after each workout. Lubrication is not required on residential treadmills. In commercial settings, Landice recommends lubricating the underside of the treadbelt with Landice SlipCoat on a monthly basis.
