Removing slack on feeding side of ribbon (behind printhead)

1. Open the top cover all the way until it stops at hinges and unlock the printhead assembly by
pushing the printhead release lever and open it towards the left side of the printer all the way
until it stops and stands upright.
2. Loosen the thumbscrew with the ribbon guide shaft a little (but not completely) and move it
vertically to remove slack and wrinkles on both sides.
• When they are found on the right side of the ribbon (viewed from the front of the printer),
lower the thumbscrew towards the value of 10 on the scale,
• And when they are found on the left side of the ribbon (viewed from the front of the printer),
raise the thumbscrew towards the value of 0 (zero) on the scale.
3. Check to see that slack and wrinkles on the ribbon are removed completely, and lastly tighten
the thumbscrew.
