Outside temperature

warning
appears on the display.
Possible cause:
The outside temperature
measured on the motor-
cycle is less than:
Approx. 37 °F (Approx. 3 °C)
The outside temperature
warning does not mean that
there is no risk of icy conditions
at temperatures above the bor-
derline range.
At low outside temperatures, icy
conditions must especially be ex-
pected on bridges and in shady
road areas.
Think well ahead when driving.
EWS active
shows yellow.
appears on the display.
Possible cause:
The key being used is not autho-
rized for starting, or communica-
tion between the key and engine
electronics is disrupted.
Remove other motorcycle keys
from the ignition key ring.
Have the defective key re-
placed, preferably by an autho-
rized BMW Motorrad retailer.
Radio-operated key
outside reception range
with Keyless Ride
OE
shows yellow.
appears on the display.
Possible cause:
Communication between the
radio-operated key and the en-
gine electronics is disrupted.
Check battery in radio-operated
key.
OE
with Keyless Ride
Replace battery of radio-oper-
ated key (
52).
Use an emergency key or a
completely drained remote
control key to continue driv-
ing.
OE
with Keyless Ride
Battery of radio-operated key is
drained, emergency key is not
available (
50).
Radio-operated key lost, emer-
gency key available (
Should the warning symbol ap-
pear while driving, keep calm.
