Reduce the drop in brightness at the
edges of photographs when using type
G, E, and D lenses (PC lenses excluded).
The effect is most noticeable at
maximum aperture.
Reduce barrel distortion when shooting
with wide-angle lenses and to reduce
pin-cushion distortion when shooting
with long lenses.
Reduce "noise" (bright spots or fog) in
photos taken at slow shutter speeds.
Reduce "noise" (randomly-spaced
bright pixels) in photos taken at high
ISO sensitivities.
Adjust ISO sensitivity settings for
photographs (0 99, 102).
