INSERTING BITS
See Figure 4.
Follow these steps to insert bits.
1. Unplug the grinder.
WARNING:
Failure to unplug the tool could result
in serious injury due to accidental starting.
2. Depress and hold the spindle lock button.
3. Turn the collet nut until the spindle lock engages the
hole in the shaft.
4. Insert the bit into the collet a minimum of 16 mm
(5/8 in.) to prevent the bit from coming out of the
grinder while in use.
Note: Inserting the bit a minimum of 16 mm (5/8 in.)
into the collet provides a minimum overhang, which
ensures less vibration and better results.
WARNING:
Bits separating from the grinder while
in use could cause serious personal injury.
5. Tighten the collet nut securely with the wrench pro-
vided.
6. Release the spindle lock button.
Note: Always check the bit for tightness before
each use. A loose bit can be thrown from tool with
considerable force causing injury.
WARNING:
Never use grinding wheels rated
below 26,500/min. Wheels rated less than
26,500/min could break while in use, causing
serious injury.
