Connecting the VMX OFFICE
system to a computer
For multimedia purposes or voice over IP
(internet telephony) you can connect
the VMX OFFICE system to a computer.
There are two ways to connect to a
computer:
1. If your computer features a Bluetooth
interface, you can connect the head-
set directly via Bluetooth as des-
cribed under "Pairing to other Blue-
tooth devices" on page 12. In this
case you do not require the base
station for VoIP.
2. You can connect the base station to a
standard computer sound card using

an accessory cable.

Connect the RJ 9 plug of the acces-
sory cable:
– to the AUX/DHSG socket
additionally connect a standard
fixed line phone or no phone at all
– to the PHONE socket

Connect the cable with 3.5 mm jack
plugs to the RJ 45 plug of the acces-
sory cable.
Connect the 3.5 mm jack plugs to the
green headphone output socket and
the red microphone input socket of a
computer sound card.
Before testing, make sure
that the PC is configured
accordingly.
Make sure that the base station AUX
´
LED
is lit. If it is not lit:
Press the AUX button
´
The AUX LED
is on lit.
Put on the headset.
Play a sound file on the PC.
On the headset, press the hook
button
.
If the sound file is heard in the
headset, the system is connected
correctly.
If no sound file is heard, please refer
to "Adjusting the VMX OFFICE system
to your fixed line phone" on page 10.
