A GAME INPUT VIDEO jack
Use a video cable (not supplied) to connect the
video output of the optional video game
machine to this jack.
B GAME INPUT AUDIO L/R jacks
Use audio cords (not supplied) to connect the
audio output of the optional video game
machine to these jacks. You can then output
audio through this system. To listen to the
analog sound of a connected video game, press
GAME.
Notes
• To enjoy video game sound, see "Enhancing video
game sound" on page 47, or see "Mixing video game
sound with other sound source" on page 48 for video
game sound effects.
• The video game machine image may appear on the
TV screen even if the system is turned off.
• If you press GAME while the system is off, the
system turns on, the function switches to GAME, and
the equalizer also switches to the GAME EQ
(previously selected effect).
• If you press GAME while the system is on, the
function switches to GAME and the equalizer
automatically switches to the GAME EQ (previously
selected effect).
C MD (VIDEO) IN L/R jacks
Use audio cords (not supplied) to connect an
optional analog component (MD deck or VCR,
etc.) to these jacks. You can then record or listen
to from the component through this system.
D MD (VIDEO) OUT L/R jacks
Use audio cords (not supplied) to connect an
optional analog component (MD deck or VCR,
etc.) to these jacks. You can then output audio to
the component from this system.
E SUB WOOFER OUT jack
Use an audio cord (not supplied) to connect an
optional sub woofer* to this jack. You can then
output audio to the component from this system.
* SA-RV990 is recommended. In some areas, SA-
RV990 is not available.
Note
The effects may be limited or noise may occur
depending on the connected sub woofer or the type of
music being played. For details, consult your nearest
Sony dealer.

F DIGITAL OUT jack
Use a digital optical cable (square, not supplied)
to connect the audio input of the optional digital
component to this jack. You can then record
digital audio from this system.
Notes
• When playing a DVD*, VIDEO CD or MP3
audio tracks, you cannot output digital audio.
• You can record digital audio from this system
only when DVD function is selected.
* MHC-RV990D only
G COMPONENT VIDEO OUT
jacks
Use an optional video cord to connect a TV. If
your TV accept progressive format file signals,
you must use this connection and set
"COMPONENT OUT" to "PROGRESSIVE" in
"Adjusting the TV screen" (page 30).
Note
You cannot output component video using GAME
INPUT VIDEO jack.
H S VIDEO OUT jack
Use an S video cord (not supplied) to connect an
optional TV to this jack. You can enjoy higher
quality video images.
Note
You cannot output S video using GAME INPUT
VIDEO jack.
