Section 1 - Product Overview
COMPONENT DESCRIPTION
Cooling Fan
The cooling fan is used to cool the hard
drive. The cooling fan will run during
system bootup and will turn off after bootup
has completed. The DNS-313 will also
turn on the fan if the system temperature
becomes too high and turn off the fan when
the system temperature lowers down to a
reasonable level.
Do not block this opening.
Reset Button
Use this to reset the DNS-313 to factory
default settings. To reset, insert a ballpoint
pen and hold the recessed button down for
a few seconds.
Direct Attached/
Slide the switch to select whether the

DNS-313 will be used as a USB 2.0
Storage Mode
portable drive or as a Network Storage
Switch
device. See the "Direct Attached/Network
Storage Mode" section on page 6 for more
information on how the USB/Ethernet port
switch works.
Drive Eject
Use the provided lever to eject the hard

drive. The front panel must be removed
before ejecting the drive.
Power
The 12V/ 3A power supply connects here.
