2 General description The WMF CAFEMAT V is the filter coffee specialist. In terms of flexibility, its new design of brewing system establishes new standards. Single cups, pots and multi-brews allow efficient adaptation to varying requirements. On the 3314 model (small brewer), each serving is freshly brewed by a touch of a button. -

3 Warnings Maximum safety is a key feature of WMF products to which we pay particular attention. Despite extensive safety measures, improperly operated units are potentially dangerous. For your safety, we have therefore summarised potential hazards below and highlighted them with a grey background throughout the instruction manual. -
Page 8: Safety Instructions
If the safety valve is activated, the machine should be switched off immediately at the customer’s main switch. Switch off the machine if a boiler malfunction occurs. Contact the WMF customer service department and do not switch the machine on again until the fault has been remedied. -

If the local water has a carbonate hardness of more than 9° (German hardness), a WMF water filter must be installed in the supply line to the machine. -

The machine operator must arrange for the site preparatory work. This should be carried out by approved contractors in accordance with general and local regulations. WMF customer service technicians are only permitted to connect up the machine to the prepared connections. They are... -

The machine should only be connected and put into service by a WMF customer service engineer. Initial start-up The WMF customer service engineer will set the brewing and hot water quantities to the required levels and instruct your staff accordingly. -
Page 12: Preperation Of Filter Coffee
Preperation of filter coffee 7.2.1 Brewing with storage reservoir The WMF CAFEMAT V has a 3-litre storage reservoir. The desired quantity to be made in the reservoir can be set via the two preselection options: 1.5 litres and 3 litres. -

7.2.5 Testing coffee/manual portioning Caution! In the area of the dispenser 11. Never touch the brewer when the machine is in operation. Risk of crushing and/ or scalding! A manual portioning function can be used to test new brands of coffee or to prepare different coffee products. Different brewing quantities are available, depending on the machine model. -

Hot water can be dispensed to prepare tea, cocoa or hot drinks, with a choice between portioned or unportioned servings. For portioned dispensing, the WMF customer service engineer will set the quantity for you. The set quantity is portioned and dispensed by pressing the “Hot water”... -

For waiter accounting, the WMF CAFEMAT V is equipped with an integral waiter lock (Fig.4). The unit is then always connected to a till or a WMF Hogatron unit. In order to dispense drinks, a WMF personnel key has to be used. The personnel key has to be registered with the till or WMF Hogatron unit. -

8 Care of the machine Emptying of grouts container and water container The WMF CAFEMAT V employs a dry disposal system for coffee grouts, i.e. at the end of the brewing cycle the used grounds are collected in the coffee grouts container inside the machine. -
Page 20: Automatic Cleaning
Automatic cleaning Caution! When using cleaner, note the precautions on the pack. The cleaner is caustic. The cleaning guard should always be fitted to the coffee spout whenever cleaning is carried out. Health hazard! For consistent quality and to ensure the machine operates correctly, a fully automated cleaning cycle should be run daily, so that all parts coming into contact with the coffee are cleaned. - Page 21 7. Now place 100g of WMF special cleaning powder (order no. 33.0358.0000) into the brewer (see Fig. Note: Please put the whole content of portion sachet (100g) of the special cleaning powder into the brewer. Any products delivered or any services rendered showing a defect as to quality within the period of limitation shall be, at WMF’s reasonable discretion, repaired or rendered again, if the cause of the defect as to quality had already been present when the risk was passed. - Page 25 Claims for damages by the buyer, irrespective of their legal grounds, particularly on account of violations of the contractual obligation and on account of tortious acts, shall be excluded. The above exclusion shall not apply in so far as there is a mandatory liability, e.g. in case of giving warranties as to quality or durability, pursuant to the German Product Liability Act, in cases of willful acts, of gross negligence, of fatal injuries, of bodily injuries or injuries to health, or in case of any violation of substantive obligations from this contract.
