Cylinder Head Removal
1. Clean the area above the engine before
disassembly to prevent dirt falling into the
engine.
2. Drain the engine oil (page 43).
3. Drain the radiator coolant after cooling the
motorcycle (page 149).
4. Remove the seat and fuel tank (pages 35, 36).
5. Remove the muffler (page 62).
6. Lift the subframe to the upright position
(page 38).
7. Remove the carburetor (page 136).
8. Remove the exhaust pipe (page 64).
9. Remove the spark plug (page 60).

10.Remove the cylinder head cover (page 66).
11.Position the piston at top dead centre on the
compression stroke (page 66).
12.Remove the camshaft holder assembly, lifters
and shims (page 68).
13.Remove the left radiator grill (1) and left
radiator mounting bolts/washers (2).

14.Disconnect the primary wire connector (3).
Remove the bolt (4) and ignition coil (5).

15.Loosen the radiator hose clamp (6) and
disconnect the radiator hose (7).
