Maintenance and Repair

Daily Maintenance

While the power source is on and the cabinet is adequatelly full
with salt, there is no other operation is needed.

General Maintenance

You may check the following points periodically to be sure that your
equipment is working properly.
• Check the Salt Level:
Salt is the essential part of the water softening
process, as it regenerates the resin beads to prepare them for more
softening. Without this process, the beads would remain ineffective.
• Add Salt Regularly:
The amount of salt required can differ from system
to system, and this information is mentioned in the User Manual.
However, as a general rule salt should be added if the level is
under half-full.
Your water softener may use one of three types of salt: Tablet, Granular,
Block. Please contact your local distributor to be sure to use the correct
type of salt.
• Make Regular Controls:
You may check your system every 2 - 3 months
to see if there is a solid build-up of salt in the cabinet. This salt bridges
means that the salt may not be coming into contact with the water,
stopping the resin beads from regenerating, and therefore not softening
your water.
• Break Up Salt Bridges:
Bridges can be broken up quite easily using a long
stick. However, once a bridge has formed for the first time, this will
continually happen at a much faster rate, so a through clean is
recommended as soon as possible.
• Clean The Brine Tank:
It is recommended to carry out inspections every
three to four months and, though not mandatory, drain, empty,
and clean the brine tank annually.
WARNING: If you clean the cabinet, make sure you allow all the salt in the system
to dissolve before scrubbing thoroughly with soapy water and filling it back up
again. This way you can be sure there's no build-up of residue.
WARNING: If you live in an area of high humidity, it's advisable to keep lower levels
of salt in the cabinet and refill little and often. Warm, close conditions can
contribute to the formation of a salt bridge, which essentially prevents your system
from working optimally because it prevents the salt from coming into contact
with the water.

In Case of Power Outage

The controlling components are driven by an electric circuit. Some
programmed parameters will be lost as a power outage over 8 hours,
and water softener systems will carry out the regeneration process
at the incorrect time. We strongly recommend that after a power outage,
users should check the timer or adjust it according to the User Manual.
