    Basic Operations of Kollector Kollector is ready for use after proper installation of system program. 1. Plug the power cable of Kollector into the wall outlet. 2. Turn on the switch of main system. 2. Kollector starts operation after a routine start-up procedure. 3.

    Screen Layout The screen layout of Kollector is user-friendly to allow even novice users to easily learn and use the system.
  • Page 13 1) Current Recording Screen Current video recording of live images are displayed on the current recording screen. * Note When the mouse pad is returned to the original position by pressing Push mark, the Current Recording Screen is enlarged and displayed on entire screen. The indicator and button bars are instantly retreated from the screen for effective full-screen image surveillance.

    Camera Setting Selecting Camera Select a camera for desired recording time, motion detection range, image quality, resolution, motion sensitivity, etc. Camera Location Enter installed location of the selected camera. Click on the keyboard icon ( ) to display keyboard screen as shown below. Entered information will be displayed on the screen for the selected camera.
  • Page 21 Watch Mode When the checkmark on the Watch Mode is turned on, the system will not record any images and will perform only the surveillance functions. Turn the checkmark off on the Watch Mode to select motion detection range, movement sensitivity, recording time and image quality.

  • Page 28 Connection Time Limit To limit the connection time with Kollector LAN Master, check the Connection Time Limit. The maximum time limit can be set up to 120 minutes. Example: To connect and transmit images through Kollector LAN Master for only 30 minutes, check the Connection Time Limit and select 30 minutes.

    Sensor When a sensor is selected for a camera, the connected camera will immediately capture any motion detected by the sensor. Sensor Turn the checkmark on the Sensor Enable and then click the sensor number to connect to cameras. Sensor Time Selects desired sensor operating time.

  • Page 32 Reaction Mode If you want to record only the images on sensor-detected camera in full frame speed instead of the currently recording images at the standard frame rate while the sensor is activated, choose the Intensive mode. If you want to record both current images and all images on sensor-detected camera, choose Normal mode.

    Camera Control To control the pan/tilt, zoom/focus functions of the installed cameras and centrally manage the operations of connected accessories, connect the CCTV converter and controller to Kollector. The converter delivers control signal from Kollector to controllers to control connected devices. The following diagram shows the typical configurations for connecting the converter and controller for Kollector.

    Kollector Setup Selecting Recording Cameras Not all installed cameras can record images. Only the selected cameras can record images. Example: When all 8 cameras are connected to a Kollector system and only recordings on cameras numbered 1, 4, 5, 8 are desired, click the camera numbers, 1, 4, 5, and 8. Selected camera numbers will appear pressed to indicate the selection.
  • Page 44 1. Select a desired split-screen mode from the recording display mode. For example, 4- screen mode. 2. Select the camera sequence of the 8 cameras. For example, the first set with cameras 1, 2, 3, and 4, second set with 1, 5, 6, and 7, third set with 1, 6, 7, and 8 and the last set with 5, 6, 7, and 8.
  • Page 45 13. Click Close button to end Kollector setup screen. Now, the current recording screen changes to a 4-split screen mode. Immediately, the first set of four cameras, 1, 2, 3, and 4 is displayed on the screen followed by the next set, 1, 5, 6, and 7, in 3 seconds.

Select the next set of 6 cameras to be displayed together and click Add button. Example: For a 8-camera system with the 6-screen mode selected, and the first set of cameras with order of 1-2-3-4-5-6, only the rest of 4 cameras in the order of 7-8 need to be selected for the second set.

    Kollector Upgrade Auto Upgrade The operating system program for Kollector can be easily upgraded to the latest version by inserting the upgrade diskette purchased from the supplier and following the upgrade instruction as shown on the screen.     Using Kollector Viewer Kollector Viewer allows easy and convenient search through the recorded images by date, hour, and the camera number.

    After entering the password, turn the checkmark on the Save the Password. Once done, it is not necessary to enter the password again. If you forgot the password, contact Vicon Industries for further help. 3. When Kollector Viewer screen appears, enter recording date and hour to select the desired time period from which to retrieve selected video clips.

  • Page 55 Displays the images that match the search criteria. Up to a maximum of 8 channels can be displayed simultaneously, depending on screen mode selected. The screen displays Vicon logo on channels with no recording to be shown. 2) Replay Replays the images found.
  • Page 56 15) Save Searched Image Continuously saves and stores images from the current search screen in JPEG or BMP format on a floppy disk. The number of frames of images saved on the floppy disk depends on the available remaining storage space on the floppy disk (the file export is used for the rapid distribution of video images using JPEG, which are large files).
