17. Filter Basket Cover
To remove, lift up where LIFT indicates.
Cover separates into two pieces for easy
cleaning. Line up the GRIND arrows on
the lid before brewing to eliminate the
slight delay in grinding caused by the
coffeemaker lining them up for you.
NOTE: Cover becomes hot after coffee
is brewed.
18. Cuisinart Permanent Gold-Tone
Commercial Style Filter
Eliminates the need for paper filters.
NOTE: Some fine grounds may flow
through the filter and appear as sediment
in the carafe.
19. Filter Basket
Holds paper filter or Cuisinart permanent
gold-tone filter.
20. Coffee Scoop/Cleaning Brush
(not shown)
21. Safety Interlock System

Prevents unit from operating if filter
basket, filter basket cover, or filter
basket door is not properly in place.
22. BPA Free (not shown)
All materials that come in contact with
liquid are BPA free.
IMPORTANT TIPS
• Cleaning the Grind Chute - If not
cleaned regularly, grinds will accumulate
in the chute and hinder the flow of coffee.
This may result in weak-tasting coffee or
in extreme cases, a blockage of the
chute. We suggest cleaning the grind
chute every 7 to 10 uses depending on
the type of beans you are using. Refer to
page 11-12 for easy instructions on how
to effectively clean out the grind chute.
• Grind Arrows - We suggest lining up the
grind arrows on the filter basket lid before
brewing. This is not a necessary step;
however, by doing so, you will shorten
brewing time by allowing the coffeemaker
to bypass this step.
