Open the reservoir lid and pour in water,
using the water level window indicator to
measure the number of cups desired. Note:
Do not exceed the 12-cup line. Doing so
could cause carafe to overflow.

Follow instructions "Inserting the Coffee
Filter" (#4 in "Making Coffee with Whole
Beans" page 10).
4. Add Pre-Ground Coffee
Use 1 level scoop of ground coffee per cup,
or more or less according to individual taste.
Replace the filter basket cover and close fil-

CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
COMPLETELY CLEAN AND DRY
ALL PARTS AFTER EVERY USE
Always turn coffeemaker off and remove the plug
from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
After every use, remove filter basket cover, filter
basket and permanent or paper filter. Discard cof-
fee grounds and paper filter. Remove carafe and
pour out any remaining coffee.
The permanent filter, filter basket, filter basket
cover, carafe and lid can be washed in warm
soapy water and rinsed thoroughly or cleaned in
the upper rack of the dishwasher. Dry all parts
after every use.
TO CLEAN THE HOPPER AND
COFFEE CHUTE
We suggest cleaning the hopper and coffee chute
every 7 to 10 uses depending on frequency of
use.
Hopper: Remove the lid and turn the hopper
release knob to the unlocked position. Remove
hopper and set aside any unused coffee beans.
Wash lid and hopper in warm soapy water and
rinse thoroughly, or clean in the upper rack of the
dishwasher. Dry all parts after every use.
NOTE: Do not put any water in the unit once the
hopper has been removed. If water gets into the
grinder motor, the motor may become damaged
and malfunction.
