1) Peel the separator sheet off the accompanying pipe cover, and wrap it around the
refrigerant pipe, making sure that the side which is slit faces upwards. (Fig. 4-2)

2) Be sure to fix both ends of the pipe cover using an attachment band (ensure
that the band's joint faces upwards).
r Cut off the remainder band
3) Stick vinyl tape on the joint positions.
See that stop valve on outdoor unit is fully shut (unit is shipped with valve shut).
After all piping connections between indoor and outdoor unit have been completed.
Test for gas leaks between the indoor unit and the preexisting tubes by running ni-
trogen through the stop valve's service port on the outdoor unit.
Vacuum-purge air from system through the service port for the stop valve on the
outdoor unit.
After completing procedures above, open outdoor unit stop valves stem fully. This
completes connection of refrigerant circuit between indoor and outdoor units.
If the stop valves are left closed and the unit is operated, the compressor will be
damaged.
Stop valve instructions are marked on outdoor unit.

• If a torque wrench is not available, the following method may be used.
While tightening the flare nut with a spanner, stop turning the nut at the point
where the tightening torque suddenly increases. Then, turn the spanner in the
angle specified in the table below.

• The drainage pipe should be arranged so that the discharge end is lower than
the other end, as shown in the fig. 5-1.
• Place the trap outside the unit.
• After connecting the drainage pipe, make sure that water is discharged properly
and that there are no leaks.
