Practical hints
Replacing bulbs
Always use a clean lint-free cloth when
R
handling bulbs.
Your hands should be dry and free of oil and
R
grease.
If the newly installed bulb does not come
R
on, contact an authorized Mercedes-Benz
Center.

Mercedes-Benz recommends using
Longlife (LL) bulbs.
Have the LEDs and bulbs for the following
lamps replaced at an authorized Mercedes-
Benz Center:
Additional turn signal lamps in the exterior
R
rear view mirrors
Bi-Xenon lamps
R
Front fog lamps
R
Front side marker lamps
R
Parking and standing lamps (vehicles with
R
Bi-Xenon headlamps only)
Rear lamps (except license plate lamps)
R
High-mounted brake lamp
R

Do not replace the LEDs yourself. You
could otherwise damage the LEDs or parts

of the vehicle. Only have the LEDs replaced
at an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center.
Replacing bulbs for front lamps
Before you start to replace a bulb for a front
lamp, do the following:

Switch off the ignition.

Turn the exterior lamp switch to position
M.
X
Open the hood (
Y
page 241).
Housing cover for low-beam halogen or Bi-

Xenon headlamp
G Warning!
Do not remove the cover for the Bi-Xenon
headlamp. Because of high voltage in
Xenon lamps, it is dangerous to replace the
bulb or repair the lamp and its components.
It is recommended to have such work done
by a qualified technician.
Bulb socket for high-beam headlamp/

high-beam flasher bulb
Bulb socket for parking and standing lamp

Bulb socket for low-beam headlamp bulb

(halogen headlamps only)
Bulb socket for front turn signal lamp bulb

Turn housing cover
counterclockwise

and remove it.

Turn bulb socket
with the bulb

counterclockwise and remove it.
