    While seated, an occupant should not position him/herself in such a way as to cause the occupant’s weight to be lifted from the seat bottom as this may result in the OCS being unable to correctly approximate the occupant’s weight cat- egory.

    Only use seat belts which have been approved by Mercedes-Benz. Do not make any modifications to the seat belts. This can lead to unintended activa- tion of the ETDs or to their failure to activate when necessary.

The KEYLESS-GO function is integrated into the SmartKey. On these vehicles, the validity of the SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO is checked every time you pull an outside door handle.

If, after a period of time, the seat no longer provides the desired contour, then repeat the adjustment procedure.

    Controls in detail Multifunction steering wheel The seat heating switches from level 3 (high) to level 2 after approximately 5 minutes. The seat heating switches from level 2 to level 1 (low) after approximately 10 minutes. The seat heating automatically switches off after approximately 20 minutes.

    Easy-entry/exit feature This feature allows for easier entry into and exit from the vehicle. When entering and exit- ing the vehicle, the steering wheel is in its uppermost position. The easy-entry/exit feature can be activated or deactivated in the Convenience submenu of the control system ( page 138).

    Controls in detail Mirrors The steering wheel heating is temporarily suspended while indicator lamp remains on when the temperature of the vehicle interior is above 86‡ (30†) or if the temperature of the steering wheel is above 95‡ (35†). When these conditions do not apply any- more, steering wheel heating continues.

    At low ambient temperatures, the exterior rear view mirrors will be heated automati- cally. Auto-dimming rear view mirrors The reflection brightness of the exterior rear view mirror on the driver’s side and the inte- rior rear view mirror will respond automati- cally to glare when the ignition is switched on and incoming light from headlamps falls on the sensor in the interior rear view mirror.
