18.0 TROUBLESHOOTING
Before calling for service please refer to the following basic troubleshooting guide for help.
TV WILL NOT TURN ON
NO PICTURE / NO SOUND
NO SOUND / PICTURE OK

REMOTE CONTROLLER

WATCHING A DVD
WARNING! This equipment needs careful attention when cleaning. Ensure any cloth or tissue
used cannot scratch the equipment. The display screen may be damaged if incorrect process
is followed.
Clean LCD display area using a lint free cloth only, using a gentle action. Do not use
excessive force. Wipe other surfaces with a slightly damp cloth, dry with a dry towel. Do not
use any cleaning agents, liquid or harsh abrasives to clean the display area as these will
damage the display and void all warranty claims.
Ensure the supply cord is plugged in and switch on.
Ensure there is power to the circuit.
Ensure the remote control batteries are not dead
Ensure that the timer is not in operation.
Check the input aerial connections.
Press the "Display" button to confirm the correct signal source.
Check the sound is not muted.
Press "VOL+" on the remote control.
Try another channel to confirm that the broadcast program is not
faulty.
Check the speaker connections.
Check the sound system is B/G sound mode.
Check the aerial connections.
Adjust the fine-tuning settings under the Channel settings.
Check the colour system is PAL colour system.
Check the video signal source, RGB or YPbPr/YCbCr.
Check that the batteries are not dead.
Ensure the batteries are installed correctly.
Ensure you are pointing the remote at the set adequately.
Check you are not in Teletext mode.
Use the DVD player's zoom function to fill the entire screen (See
DVD player instruction manual for this function). NOTE: Zooming
in will lose some picture from the sides and may also lose some
picture quality.
