    To turn on the dev ce, press the power sw tch to (1) pos t on. The startup tone w ll be heard and after the FORS Tech logo s d splayed for a short per od of t me, the ma n screen w ll come up on the LCD panel.

    MEN U The menu screen allows you to access all the FORS Tech sett ngs. You can go to the menu screen by press ng one of the up/down/+/- sw tches wh le on the ma n screen and adjust the sett ngs of the dev ce.

    CONDUCTIVE GROUND (COG): Th s s the spec al mode of FORS Tech des gned for conduct ve ground (wet beach sand, alkal sand etc.). What s spec al about th s mode s that t w ll not react to ron or s m lar targets w th n the same range and that the dev ce w ll ground balance eas ly on all types of ground.

    Ground balance can be done n three ways n FORS Tech: Automat c, Manual or Ground Track ng. Dur ng automat c or manual ground balanc ng, when you press the ground balance button, no matter what mode you are us ng, the dev ce w ll unnot ceably revert to the General Search mode and the aud ble tones w ll be heard accord ngly.

    P npo nt ng s to determ ne the center or the exact locat on of a detected target. FORS Tech operates on the pr nc ple of mot on. Th s means that you must move the search co l over the target or the target over the search co l, n order for the dev ce to detect t. In the p npo nt mode, however, the dev ce constantly g ves s gnal when you hold the search co l st ll over the target.

When you detect a target w th the FORS Tech, n order to get an accurate ID of the target, nstead of narrow ng the sweeps and mak ng qu ck sweeps over the target l ke n other detectors, you should make w der and del berate sweeps.
