Recirculating hoods

MOTOR AND FAN
If the fan fails to circulate air, possible causes such as the fan blade striking the hood shell
or excessively soiled filter should be checked and corrected before using the hooci again.
If the fan operates but moves air slower than normal, check to be sure the filter is clean.
If that does
not
correct the problem, call your serviceman.

I. DISCONNECT POWER AT MAIN FUSE BOX.
2. Remove filters.
3. Wipe fan blade and motor with cloth, dampened only in ammonia and warm water
solution.
4. Replace filters.
5.
Connect power at main fuse.

REPLACEMENT
THE LAMP CRYSTAL IS GLASS AND IS BREAKABLE. Remove by pushing up
and to the right, then turn at an angle to clear the opening, and remove.
ALL MOD ELS: Your hood is equipped with an ordinary screw-base lamp bulb receptacle.

The lamp bulb is not supplied but DO NOT USE A LAMP OF MORE THAN 60
WATTS IN THIS HOOD.
To replace lamp bulb: ALWAYS let lamp cool COMPLETELY. A warm lamp bulb may
break if touched with a moist cloth or hand. When cool, unscrew lamp and replace with a
new lamp as specified above.
To replace lamp crystal: Insert at an angle into lamp compartment so ribbed side is up
and smooth side is down. Push crystal up, slide to left and into place.
If the fan does not operate when the switch is on, check the main fuse or circuit breaker.
If the fan operates, but slower than normal, the filter may need cleaning. If that does
not correct the problem, call your General Electric serviceman.
If the fan keeps going off and on, the motor is probably overheating and turning itself off.
This can be harmful to the motor. Check to be sure the filter is clean. If it should continue
off and on cycling, ca~lyour' General Electric serviceman.
Help them give you prompt service by giving:
I. The complete model number of your hood. The nameplate is located at the rear of the
hood and covered by the filter; remove filter for access.
2. An accurate description of the trouble.
Note: When service is required, be sure to specify genuine General Electric renewal parts.
