5.2 Console switch

The monitor, keyboard and mouse port of the integrated rack console are connected to the
corresponding ports on the integrated units (Management Unit, Server Unit x86, HNC, and
Application Unit) and thus attached to one of them.
By default the rack console is attached to the Management Unit.
The console switch is a 16-port KVM switch.
In the maximum configuration, 5 KVM ports (2 x MU and 3 x SU x86) are occupied in the
SE300, and 8 KVM ports (2 x MU, 4 x HNC and 2 x SU x86) in the SE500/SE700.
For the SE300 at least 11 free ports thus remain available to connect AUs, and for the
SE500/SE700 at least eight free ports. If more AUs are to be integrated into the SE server,
the KVM switch can be cascaded with another KVM switch.
