Installing DIMM

Install a DIMM proceeding as follows.
1. See
See "Preparing Your System for Upgrade" on page 110.
2. Remove the side cover.
3. Remove the CPU duct cover.
page 114.
4. Locate the socket in which you wish to install a DIMM.
5. Open the levers at both ends of the socket.
Do not apply an excessive pressure on the lever.
6. Push the DIMM straight into the socket.
Use extreme care when installing a DIMM. Applying too much
pressure can damage the socket. Keyed DIMMs insert only one
way.
If the DIMM is inserted into the DIMM socket, the lever is automatically
closed.
Install one pair of DIMMs at a time. In addition, use a set of
memory devices with the same specification. The specification
of a memory device is described on the label put on the device.
