Installing remote fibre-channel boot support for a Windows 2000 host
system
This section provides instructions for installing remote fibre-channel boot support for
a Windows 2000 host system.
You must obtain the following items before beginning to install remote fibre-channel
boot support:
v The IBM TotalStorage Enterprise Storage Server Subsystem Device Driver User's
v The IBM TotalStorage DS6000 Introduction and Planning Guide.
v Either the Windows 2000 CD-ROM or a set of Windows 2000 setup floppy disks
v The Windows 2000 installation instructions.
v Ensure that the host adapters are installed and cable connections of the host,
v The supported fibre-channel host adapter driver package.
v The supported fibre-channel host adapter driver documentation.
v Extract and copy the driver files to a floppy.
Remote fibre-channel boot support is available for Windows 2000 with or without
SDD. For information on the SDD hardware and software installation requirements,
see IBM TotalStorage Multipath Subsystem Device Driver User's Guide.

Configure zoning and obtain storage

1. Reboot the host system to obtain the Host Bus Adapter WWPN:
