This chapter describes how to attach a Hewlett-Packard (HP) AlphaServer Tru64
UNIX host to a storage unit.
Attaching to an HP AlphaServer Tru64 UNIX host system with
fibre-channel adapters
This section describes the host system requirements and provides the procedures
to attach a storage unit to an HP AlphaServer with fibre-channel adapters.
Supported fibre-channel adapters for the HP AlphaServer Tru64 UNIX
host system
This section lists the fibre-channel adapters that are supported for storage unit
attachment to an HP AlphaServer Tru64 UNIX host system.
You can attach a storage unit to an HP AlphaServer Tru64 UNIX host system with
the following fibre-channel adapters:
v KGPSA-CA adapter card
v KGPSA-DA adapter card
v KGPSA-EA adapter card
Note: You do not need the Subsystem Device Driver because Tru64 UNIX

Supported operating system levels for fibre-channel attachment to an
HP Tru64 UNIX host
This section lists the supported operating system levels for storage unit
fibre-channel attachment to an HP AlphaServer Tru64 UNIX host system.
You can attach a clustered HP AlphaServer Tru64 host system with level 5.0A, 5.1,
5.1A, and 5.1B with the following topologies:
v Switched fabric
v Point-to-point

This section lists the attachment requirements to attach a storage unit to a Tru64
UNIX host system with fibre-channel adapters.
You must comply with the following requirements when attaching the storage unit to
your host system:
v Ensure that you can reference the documentation for your host system and the
