FinePix S2 Pro (U/E) SERVICE MANUAL
[ The procedure for creating a CCD defect data file to be used in MAIN PWB ASSY replacement is
described below.]
* In this explanation, the sample serial number shown in the figure at right is used as an example.
<Step 1>
When you are replacing the MAIN PWB ASSY, make a note
of the CCD serial number printed on the CCD HOLDER ASSY.
In figure 7, this number is shown as the upper 7-digit number
(0148400) and the lower 4-digit number (0750). In this case,
the defect data file name is read as "14840750".
In other words, the first digit and the last 2 digits in the upper
number are discarded and only the 4 numbers from digit 2 to
digit 5 are used.
The lower 4-digit number is then added to the end of these 4
digits and the combined 8-digit number is used as the CCD
defect data file name. Make a note of this number.
[Notes]
1.The S2Pro uses 2 types of defect data file.
The file extensions used for CCD defect data are ".dat" and ".kiz".
Windows may be set to hide file extensions. If so, change the
Windows settings so that file extensions are displayed.
2.Letters as well as numbers may be used in CCD serial
numbers. If so, use the same method as that described above
to obtain the file name.
3.Be sure to note the CCD serial number correctly. If a file
with the wrong file name is used for defect correction, the
data for a different camera will be written to the file.
<Step 2>
Download the ZIP file of top four digits from Web serv-
er (http://fujifilm-di.intranets.com/).
Open [ZJ00556-100(Fig 8-(1))] in the CCD defect
data folder, and download "1484.zip[Fig.8-(2)]".
<Step 3> [Copying a .dat file][Copying a .kiz file]
Decompress "1484.zip".
-->"1484 folders" including "14840750.dat and
14840750.kiz" is made.
<Step 4>
Insert a writable floppy disk into the floppy disk drive
on the computer.
<Step 5>
Open in "1484 folders", search for "14840750.dat and
14840750.kiz [Fig 8-(3)] ", and copy it onto the floppy
disk.
(note)
2. The file identifier for the CCD defect data is ".dat and .kiz".
With some Windows settings, the identifier is not displayed.
Change the setting in such cases.
3. In some cases the CCD serial number includes letters as
well as numbers. In such cases the file name is formed in
exactly the same way.
4. Do not create a folder on the floppy disk when copying the
file.
5. The defect data file may be used after copying to the C:
drive on the computer, however it should be labeled clearly
to ensure that it is recognizable as FinePix S2Pro CCD-
defecte data, and kept in a safe place.
<Step 6>
Using the defect data in the floppy disk prepared in
Step 5, perform CCD defect correction adjustment.
