HP Photosmart R817/R818 User's Manual
Possible cause
The focus
distance is closer
than the camera
can focus in the
Macro
or
Super Macro
focus range.
The scene is too
dark and the
camera cannot
focus.
The camera
cannot find focus
in the Macro
or Super Macro
focus range,
possibly due to
low contrast.
The light is low
and the image is
likely to be blurry
due to the long
exposure
required.
Solution
Move farther away from
the subject, within Macro
or Super Macro
focus range (see
page 42).
• Add an external light
source.
• Use Focus Lock (see
page 40). Point at a
part of the scene that is
brighter.
• Make sure the Focus
Assist light is set to
Auto (see page 116).
• Use Focus Lock (see
page 40). Point at a
part of the scene that is
brighter or has a high
contrast edge.
• Make sure the subject
is within Macro
Super Macro
(see page 42).
Use the flash (see
page 47), set the camera
on a stable surface, or use
a tripod.
