Possible cause
The scene is
dark and the
camera is
taking a long
exposure.
You did not
press the
Shutter button
hard enough.
The internal
memory or
memory card is
full.
The memory
card is locked.
The flash is
recharging.
The camera is
set to Macro
or Super
Macro
focus and
cannot take a
picture until it
finds focus.
Solution
• Use the flash.
• If using flash is not possible,
use a tripod to keep the
camera steady during the long
exposure time.
• Make sure that the Focus Assist
light is set to Auto (see
page 116).
Press the Shutter button all the
way down.
Transfer images from the camera
to your computer, then format the
internal memory or the memory
card (see page 127). Or replace
the card with a new one.
Switch the locking tab on the
memory card to the unlocked
position.
Wait until the flash has recharged
before taking another picture.
Re-focus the camera (try using
Focus Lock; see page 40).
Make sure the subject of the
picture is within the Macro or
Super Macro focus range (see
page 42).
