8 Measure the primary coil resistance.
Primary coil resistance
0.168 ~ 0.252 Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω at 20°C
8 Connect the pocket tester (Ω × 1k) to
the ignition coil as shown.

8 Measure the secondary coil resistance.

2.4 ~ 3.6 kΩ Ω Ω Ω Ω at 20°C
8 Is the ignition coil OK?
YES
Replace the ignition coil.

7. Pickup coil resistance
8 Disconnect the pickup coil coupler from
the wire harness.
8 Connect the pocket tester (Ω × 100) to
the pickup coil terminal as shown.
Positive tester probe
Negative tester probe
8 Measure the pickup coil resistance.
Pickup coil resistance
248 ~ 372Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω at 20°C
(between white/red and white/
blue)
8 Is the pickup coil OK?
YES
Replace the pickup coil.

8. Main switch
8 Check the main switch for continuity.
Refer to
SWITCHES".
8 Is the main switch OK?
YES
Replace the main switch.
