CHECKING THE RADIATOR

1. Check:
8 radiator fins
Obstruction
Apply compressed air to the rear of the
radiator.
Damage
NOTE:
Straighten any flattened fins with a thin, flat-head
screwdriver.
2. Check:
8 radiator hoses Radiator inlet hose1
8 radiator pipes Radiator outlet hose2
Cracks/damage
3. Measure:
8 radiator cap opening pressure
Below the specified pressure
the radiator cap.
Radiator cap opening pressure
93.3 ~ 122.7 kPa
(0.95 ~ 1.25 kg/cm
psi)

a. Install the radiator cap tester 1 and radia-
tor cap tester adapter 2 to the radiator cap

b. Apply the specified pressure for ten sec-
onds and make sure there is no drop in pres-
sure.
