    About Your System Accessing System Features During Startup The following keystrokes provide access to system features during startup. Keystroke Description <F2> Enters the System Setup program.     Using the System Password When a system password is assigned, the system prompts for the system password after the system starts and only those with the password have full use of the system. Assigning a System Password Before assigning a system password, enter the System Setup program and check the System Password option.

    Glossary A — Ampere(s). AC — Alternating current. ACPI — Advanced Configuration and Power Interface. A standard interface for enabling the operating system to direct configuration and power management. ambient temperature — The temperature of the area or room where the system is located.

A technology in memory modules that potentially doubles the data rate by transferring data on both the rising and falling pulses of a clock cycle. device driver — A program that allows the operating system or some other program to interface correctly with a peripheral.
  • Page 181 In general, I/O activity can be differentiated from computational activity. IDE — Integrated drive electronics. A standard interface between the system board and storage devices. iDRAC — Internet Dell Remote Access Controller. A remote access controller that uses the Internet SCSI protocol. IP — Internet Protocol.
