Setting the Histogram Scale Marks
The Histogram shows the range and distribution of tonal values for an image, and can be
used to assess an image's brightness and contrast levels. Refer to "Viewing Overexposure
Areas and Histogram Information" on page 9-5. You can specify that scale marks be
displayed on the histogram in the Histogram/Info screen. The scale marks can serve as a
point of reference when you use the histogram to evaluate the brightness and contrast
levels of an image. The histogram's range of code values (the horizontal axis) is from 0-
255. The scale marks represent pixel code values of 50, 100, 150, and 200.

With the Properties menu
displayed, select
Histogram:Scale.
The Histogram:Scale screen
appears.

Press and hold the SELECT
button and use the Main-
Command dial to highlight
Scale Marks Off or On.
If you choose Scale Marks On,
scale marks appear on the
Histogram/Info screen.
