Activating Targets

When you convert an AIS symbol to an activated target, that target's course and
speed are shown with a vector. You can easily judge target movement by
monitoring the vector.
1. Use the trackball to place the cursor on the sleeping AIS target (indicates
only the presence of a vessel equipped with AIS in a certain location) you
wish to activate; that is, know more about a vessel's motion.
2. Press the [AIS MENU] key to open the AIS menu.
3. Press the [1] key (ACTIVATE TARGET) to activate the target.
4. Press any menu key to close the menu.

Dangerous target
When an activated target violates the CPA/TCPA alarm setting its symbol
changes to the dangerous target symbol (red and flashing) and the indication
"A-CLSN" appears. (CPA and TCPA may be set in the ARPA on the E, AUTO
PLOT MENU or on the EPA menu in the EPA mode.) Press the [AUDIO OFF]
key to acknowledge the CPA/TCPA alarm. The audio alarm is silenced and the
symbol stops flashing. Take appropriate action to avoid collision.
