Message
The temperature of HDD
is outside the operating
temperature range, Turn off
power.
There was no scene which
can be deleted.
This disc cannot be used.
Please replace disc.
This disc is fi nalized.
Finalize is not required.
This disc is recorded by the
PAL system.
Please replace disc.
Unformat disc
Unformat HDD
Use AC adapter/charger.

Cause/condition for
message to appear
Appears if the temperature at the HDD,
or the ambient temperature, was higher
than the allowable operating tempera-
ture of HDD (60ºC).
Appears if the temperature of the HDD
or ambient temperature was lower than
the allowable operating temperature of
HDD (5ºC).
Appears when only multiple locked
scenes were selected using the Disc
Navigation function, and deleting them
was attempted.
Appears when a type of BD/DVD that
cannot be used on the camcorder was
loaded.
Appears when the FINALIZE button
was pressed with a fi nalized DVD-RW
(VF-mode)/DVD-R used.
Appears when a disc recorded in the
PAL system was loaded: This camcorder
is exclusively for the NTSC system and
does not comply with the PAL system.
Appears when an unformatted or
logically damaged BD/DVD was loaded.
Also appears when a dirty BD/DVD was
loaded.
Appears if the HDD is not formatted.
Also appears when the HDD is faulty.
Appears if a battery is attached to the
camcorder during dubbing, HDD full
formatting or fi nalizing.
This camcorder can use these functions
only when the AC adapter/charger is at-
tached.
Appears if a battery is used when repair-
ing video fi les. The specifi cations state
that video fi les can be repaired only
when the AC adapter/charger powers
the camcorder.
Appears when an SD memory card
whose erasure prevention switch was
locked is loaded.

Troubleshooting
Turn the power switch to "OFF", and
then leave the camcorder in a well-
ventilated spot until the temperature
goes down. (The camcorder with a
DVD loaded may operate normally.)
Turn the power switch to "OFF", and
move to a warmer place, making
sure there is no condensation. (The
camcorder with a DVD loaded may
operate normally.)
Use the Disc Navigation function to
unlock the scenes, and then restart
operation.
Check the type of BD/DVD and insert
a disc usable on the camcorder.
The disc does not need to be fi nalized:
Wait until the message disappears.
Use a disc recorded in the NTSC
system.
Format the BD/DVD (deleting all re-
corded data), or replace the BD/DVD.
Refer to "4-3-5 Cleaning BD/DVD
and optical pickup" and clean the
BD/DVD. Or replace the BD/DVD.
Format the HDD.
Replace the HDD, and format the
new HDD.
Stop each operation, set the power
switch to "OFF" with the BD/DVD
left loaded, remove the battery, and
connect the AC adapter/charger:
Then retry the operation.
Set the power switch to "OFF" with
the BD/DVD loaded, remove the
battery, and then connect the AC
adapter/charger.

Unlock the erasure prevention switch
of SD memory card.
