Noisy radio reception
l
Check that the frequency is correct.
l
Check that the antennas are connected properly. For FM, make sure that the antenna
is fully extended and positioned to give the best reception.
For AM, make sure that the loop antenna is pointing in the best direction.
l
If the radio signal is weak, an outdoor antenna will usually give better results than the
supplied indoor types.
l
Other electrical equipment, such as TVs, fluorescent lamps and motors can cause
interference. Try switching off or moving the equipment, or moving the antenna(s).
l
The tuning interval may be incorrect for your country or region. Try switching the
tuning interval (page 90).
Auto tuning does not pick up
.
Auto tuning will only detect radio stations with a good signal. For more sensitive
some stations.
tuning, connect an outdoor antenna.
The disc containing
the MP3
tracks won't play.
l
If the disc is a recordable CD, make sure that the disc is finalized.
l
Check that the disc is IS0 9660 compatible.

The message UNPLAYABLE
MP3 FORMAT appears when
you try to start playback.

Check that the track(s) are in the MPECl Audio Layer 3 format
l
Check that the sampling rate of the track(s) are 44.1 or 48kHz.
Some tracks seem to be
missing from the disc.
l
If a track name does not end in ".mp3" or ".MP3", this system will not recognize it as
an MP3 track.
l
This system only recognizes the first 250 folders and tracks on a disc. If there are
more folders/tracks than this, you will not be able to play them.
l
This system is not compatible with multi-session discs. If the disc is multi-session, you
will only be able to play tracks recorded onto the first session.
The remote control
doesn't
seem to work.
l
Make sure that you're using the remote within its operating range and that there are
no obstacles between the remote and the sensor on the main unit.
l
Check that the batteries are not exhausted.
No audio, or audio is dis-
torted.
l
Check that the correct function is selected (DVD/CD, etc.), the volume turned up.
l
Check that the MUTE function is not on and that the disc is not paused.
l
Check that the disc is clean and undamaged (page 92)
l
Check that all rear panel connections are correct.

If you find dirty or oxidized plugs/terminals, clean them.

W Resetting the system
Static electricity or other external influences may cause

malfunctioning of this unit. In this case, unplug the
password settings to their factory defaults
