TROUBLESHOOTING

S The radiator fan motor fails to turn.
Check:
1. Main, and radiator fan motor fuses
2. Battery
3. Main switch
4. Radiator fan motor
5. Thermo switch
6. Wiring
(the entire cooling system)
NOTE:
S Before troubleshooting, remove the following
part(-s):
1) Footrest board
2) Legshield
S Truobleshooting with the following special tool
(-s).

1. Main, and radiator fan motor fuses
S Check the main, and radiator fan motor
fuses for continuity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUSES" in chap-
ter 3.
S Are the main, and radiator fan motor fuses
OK?
YES

2. Battery
S Check the condition of the battery.
Refer to "CHECKING AND CHARGING
THE BATTERY" in chapter 3.
Open-circuit voltage
12.8 V or more at 20_C
NO
Replace the fuse(-s).
COOLING SYSTEM
S Is the battery OK?
YES

3. Main switch
S Check the main switch for continuity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE SWITCHES".
S Is the main switch OK?
YES

4. Radiator fan motor (test 1)
S Disconnect the radiator fan motor coupler
from the wireharness.
S Connect the battery (12 V) as shown.
Battery positive lead ! blue
Battery negative lead ! black
S Does the radiator fan motor turn?
YES

S Clean the battery
terminals.
S Recharge or
replace the battery.
NO
Replace the main
switch.

The radiator fan
motor is faulty and
must be replaced.
